Demo & beta notice
It was written from what the software actually does, so it is factually accurate about the product — but no lawyer has read it. It has not been checked against any particular jurisdiction's requirements, and it should be replaced with a counsel-reviewed version before anyone relies on it.
It does not replace the real agreements. A paying customer is governed by the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, DPA and Subscription Agreement. This page covers the narrower case of someone trying Restock in a demo, preview or beta capacity, where those documents describe a production service the person is not actually using yet.
1. What this covers
This notice applies if you are using Restock through a demo workspace, a preview link, a sales walkthrough, or a beta account — that is, any access that is not a paid production subscription. Where this notice and the production agreements disagree about demo access, this notice describes the actual behaviour.
2. The demo is not a production service
Concretely, and verifiably in the product:
- Demo data is fictional. Companies, brands, distributors, orders, invoices and figures shown in a demo workspace are invented for illustration. They are not real businesses and not real transactions. Surfaces that show seeded content label it as sample data.
- Demo data is not durable. Some demo workspaces keep data only in your browser. Clearing site data deletes it, and it does not follow you to another device or browser.
- Some features are not switched on. Where a feature needs a credential or a service that is not yet configured, the interface says so rather than pretending the action succeeded. If a screen tells you something is in demo mode, that statement is accurate — take it literally.
- Do not put regulated, confidential or personal data into a demo workspace. Use fictional or already-public information. If you need to trial Restock with real business data, ask us to provision a real workspace instead.
3. What we collect during a demo
The same categories described in the Privacy Policy apply. The ones people are most often surprised by, listed plainly:
| What | When | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Account and contact details | If you create an account | Stored with the workspace |
| Files you upload — purchase orders, invoices, contracts, price sheets, spreadsheets | If you use an import or intake feature | Stored with the workspace. If you use the intelligent intake, the document's contents are sent to Anthropic for classification and field extraction (see Privacy Policy §3.1). Not used to train models. |
| Precise location | Only if you use the driver/field app and grant the browser permission | Shown on your own map, shared with managers in your workspace, and recorded as proof-of-service. Route calculation sends coordinates to a third-party routing service. |
| Photographs and signatures | Only if you capture proof of delivery | Stored on the device and, when configured, in our storage bucket |
| Usage and diagnostics | Always | Error monitoring and troubleshooting |
Our current sub-processors — every third party that receives data — are listed in the Trust Center.
4. No fee, and no service commitment
Demo and beta access is provided free of charge. Because of that:
- There is no uptime commitment, no support response time, and no service level of any kind.
- We may change, interrupt, or withdraw demo access at any time, including deleting demo workspaces.
- Nothing here creates a subscription, a renewal, or a payment obligation. If and when you buy, the Subscription Agreement governs that purchase and its terms are stated at the point of sale.
5. What we have not yet earned the right to claim
Stated here because it is better to say it than to be asked:
- There is no SOC 2 report and no third-party penetration test.
- There is no published uptime figure, because there is not yet enough operating history to stand behind one.
- Restock does not store card data; payment processing is handled by Stripe.
The Security Overview describes what is implemented today versus what is planned.
6. Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas or bug reports about the demo, we may use them to improve the product without obligation or payment to you. Do not send us anything you consider confidential.
7. Ending your demo
You can stop using the demo at any time. To have a demo workspace and its data deleted, contact us at [SUPPORT ADDRESS — a mailbox that actually receives mail].
8. Contact
Questions about this notice: [CONTACT ADDRESS].
Entity: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
Fill every [BRACKET] above — they are the facts only you have. Then have counsel review this alongside the production suite, and check that the mail addresses in it actually receive mail: the domain's records are still an open item on the launch checklist, and a contact address that bounces is worse than no address at all.
Remove the draft banners once it has been reviewed, and change the date stamp.
